Few experiences can capture the awkwardness of adolescence — the aspirations, the pressures, the moments of pure mortification — like the school spelling bee. It’s celebrated with warmth, humor and joy in the Tony Award-winning comedy musical “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” the latest production from Stage Door Theatre.
Stage Door is presenting the show on their biggest-ever stage in the Winter Theatre of the Dana Fine Arts Building at Agnes Scott College from April 10-20.
“City Lights” host Lois Reitzes was joined by Stage Door artistic director Justin Ball and the show’s assistant director Xandy Poole to discuss this production.
