They say that art feeds the soul; perhaps it shouldn’t surprise us that Atlanta’s culinary creators are also accomplished stage artists. Local restaurateurs and actors Jenny Levison, owner and chef at Souper Jenny, and Mitchell Anderson, owner and chef at MetroFresh, are bringing a unique, limited-run production of the classic A.R. Gurney play “Love Letters” to Synchronicity Theatre April 4-6.
Proceeds benefit Synchronicity as well as Development in Gardening, or DIG, and the Zadie Project.
“The cool thing is that neither Jenny nor I do this for our livelihood, we do this for the love of the work,” said Anderson. He continued, “[The play is] meant to be done without a ton of rehearsal, and I think a lot of that is that you want to have that natural reaction to hearing those letters for the first time.”
