“The Mad Hatterpillar and Her Many Heads,” a new puppet musical presented by Stage Door Theatre in Dunwoody, explores the confusion and disorientation that comes with any life experience in growth.

The story, written and directed by Rachel Frawley, follows the story of Maddie, a caterpillar on a singular mission to become a butterfly and move beyond the confines of her garden walls.

Growth, however, is not a comfortable or linear process, and Maddie finds herself in a body evolving beyond her control. Just like the real-life mad haterpillar found in nature,

Maddie begins to sprout heads on top of her original – but these new additions have their own agendas.

Check out Maddie’s story at the Stage Door Theatre, playing through Feb. 10.
