Courageous conversation is the goal of a new theatrical live reading series supported by the South Fulton Institute. The “Connect” series invites audiences to free staged readings of plays, followed by open discussions led by experts in the play’s challenging subjects. From May 12 – 20, across various Atlanta venues, actors will read the play “Clyde’s” by Lynn Nottage, a story of a truck stop café staffed entirely by the formerly incarcerated. In this interview, “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes recently spoke with the staged reading’s director Kayla Parker and Jennifer Bauer-Lyons, the executive director of South Fulton Institute.

The staged readings of “Clyde’s” are at the South Fulton Institute May 12 – 20, and more information is available here.
