A new report produced by Georgia State University and Rutgers University found that three corporate companies own more than 19,000 metro Atlanta single-family homes.

According to the report, “Horizontal Holdings: Untangling the Networks of Corporate Landlords,” Invitation Homes, Pretium Partners, and Amherst Holdings intentionally purchased homes in specific neighborhoods, therefore gaining control over housing stock.

On Monday’s edition of “Closer Look,” GSU Assistant Professor Taylor Shelton, who co-author of the report, discussed some of its key findings.
