City of Lawrenceville awarded $7.7 million in infrastructure funding

Lawrenceville is the second largest municipal gas provider in Georgia and the 16th largest in the nation — serving 53,000 customers, including people in Walton and Newton counties.

But the system has also been in use since the 1950s and city leaders say miles of pipeline need repair.

On Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Lawrenceville Mayor David Still talked with show host Rose Scott about he current state of Lawerenville’s infrastructure and U.S. Representative Lucy McBath’s recent announcement that Lawrenceville will receive $7.7 million in infrastructure funding to make repairs.
