The Fox Theatre Institute celebrates 15 years of preservation efforts and grant funding

The value of physical spaces to celebrate art and performance has never been more clear to us than in recent years after the pandemic threatened many beloved venues in our community.

Preservation efforts and grant funding helped to pull many theatres through the tough times. One major source of support for preserving historic spaces in Atlanta is the Fox Theatre Institute, now celebrating 15 years of preservation grant funding.

In this interview, Fox Theatre Institute director Leigh Burns and historian and preservationist Dr. Timothy Crimmins joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to speak more about the Fox Theatre’s history, and its successes in historic preservation.
