Georgia is home to 11 different species of hummingbirds.

Hummingbirds are quite unique when compared to other birds: They are as light as a postal letter, lay only two eggs at a time and can hover in one spot.

The Georgia Audubon is hosting a live event celebrating the hummingbird called “A Year in the Life of Hummingbirds.” The online event will be from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

Melanie Furr, Georgia Audubon’s director of education, will be hosting the event. She joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes for a conversation about Sunday’s program and what makes hummingbirds so special.
