Starting Monday, restaurants in Georgia will be allowed to reopen for in-dining service — but with a number of restrictions.
Because of social-distancing measures geared toward “complicating” the spread of COVID-19, no more than 10 patrons will be allowed for every 500 square feet of space.
Salad bars and buffets aren’t allowed. And all employees must wear masks at all times.
Karen Bremer, CEO of the Georgia Restaurant Association, joined WABE’s “All Things Considered” host Jim Burress on the telephone.
Bremer noted that her organization is in support of the heightened sanitation and procedures that have been established.
There are many restaurants, especially here in Atlanta, that will not reopen Monday.
Bremer says for those restaurants that choose to open, she believes the restaurant industry will stand united.
