Just days before the one-year mark of the deadly Apalachee High School shooting that claimed the lives of freshmen Christian Angulo and Mason Schermerhorn and math teachers Richard Aspinwall and Cristina Irimie, the case of the alleged gunman’s father has received another blow.

Court documents show a Barrow County judge on Tuesday denied Colin Gray’s motions to suppress statements and evidence collected shortly after the Sept. 4, 2024, shooting, including a letter from his son, Colt Gray, asking for forgiveness. The shooting was the deadliest at a school in Georgia’s history.

Both father and son are facing dozens of charges related to the attack, with both parties pleading not guilty.
