Union City Mayor Talks Coronavirus And The National League Of Cities Conference

“All Things Considered” host Jim Burress caught up with Union City Mayor Vince Williams.

In terms of small cities, Union City Mayor Vince Williams is a big deal.

He’s spent the better part of the past decade building the city of 25,000 in the southern leg of Fulton County.

And, in that time, he’s made a name for himself beyond the city’s borders.

Just recently, he was voted 2nd Vice President of the National League of Cities and the 1st Vice President of the Georgia Municipal Association.

In Washington this week, the National League of Cities is using the time to get the ear of federal elected officials. And, of course, coronavirus dominates the dialogue.

But when WABE’s Jim Burress caught up with Williams, Burress said he thought it would be a good idea to get one question out of the way.
