U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff wants Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins — a fellow Georgian — to provide clarity about Elon Musk’s potential access to veterans’ private information.

Ossoff and several other Democratic senators released an open letter to the newly appointed secretary with their concerns. This comes after worries about the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), informally run by the Tesla CEO Musk, reportedly accessing sensitive information about veterans, their families and VA workers.

Ossoff is ranking member of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Subcommittee. In a press release on Tuesday, Ossoff cited an article by Military.com which claimed that DOGE employees accessed VA computer systems at the department’s Washington D.C. headquarters.
