A new WABE investigative report finds that a controversial land swap between DeKalb County and a movie studio company has yet to meet any of the promises made in the agreement.
It’s been over five years since the county gave up a quarter of Intrenchment Creek Park for a planned expansion by Blackhall Studios. In exchange for the land, the county expected workforce development opportunities, new land and funding to replace the shuttered park. But the expansion never happened and now the land could be flipped for a profit, with data center developers eyeing the property.
WABE environment reporter Marisa Mecke joined Monday’s “Closer Look” to discuss her reporting and what’s next for the site.
