President Obama Addresses Ebola Aid Effort At CDC (Archived Video)

President Barack Obama spoke at the offices of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta this afternoon.  We presented the President’s remarks via a live video stream courtesy of whitehouse.gov.

The President outlined a plan to step up support for fighting the Ebola virus outbreak in western Africa, where NPR reports the virus has already killed 2,400 people.  The NPR story describes the administration’s new plans to combat the deadly disease:

The Defense Department plans to establish a medical beachhead in Liberia, the hardest-hit country, offering engineering support to build 17 new treatment centers, with 100 beds each. The military will also develop a facility to train up to 500 health care workers every week.

More details about the plan will be posted shortly.

The video stream is archived below.  President Obama’s remarks begin at about 27:45.  The video should start a few seconds before the President’s comments begin. If the video doesn’t start there, just slide the counter along the timeline to that point.
