In 1947, siblings Dr. Nathaniel H. Bronner Sr., Arthur E. Bronner Sr. and Emma Bronner began teaching cosmetology at Atlanta’s Butler Street YMCA. That first year 300 people came to the Bronner Bros. Trade Show to see beauty seminars and the new products on sale.
Last weekend, the 68th Mid-Winter Bronner Bros. International Beauty Show filled the Georgia World Congress Center with more than 15,000 attendees and 400 vendors. This year the show promised to be about “[going] back to its roots, with a renewed focus on education, innovation and elevation of the multicultural beauty business.”
While the show is now only available to licensed beauty professionals and cosmetology students, WABE’s Alison Guillory was able to bob and weave through the open hall of the Georgia World Congress Center and gave us an up-close look at the expo.
