The New Disabled South is working to build a coalition of disability justice activists and advocates.

The organization launched in 2022 amid the COVID-19 pandemic with the mission: “To improve the lives of disabled people and build strong disability justice and rights movements in the South.”

Dom Kelly, the co-founder, president and CEO of New Disabled South, was a guest on Monday’s edition of “Closer Look.” He talked with Scott about navigating life with cerebral palsy and how his lived experiences shaped his advocacy work. He further discussed the work of New Disabled South and how its work is transforming the lives of people through policy and community.
