Voter participation data by race, gender and ethnicity for the 2020 presidential election is still being collected.

But on the eve of Tuesday’s general election, Bernard Fraga, an associate professor of political science at Emory University and author of the book “The Turnout Gap: Race, Ethnicity, and Political Inequality in a Diversifying America,” predicts voter turnout for all groups of people will be greater than the presidential election in 2016.

On Monday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Fraga talked with show host Rose Scott about voter turnout by race and ethnicity, black women being the Democratic Party base and what political parties have to do to engage and mobilize minority voters.
