Officials in Clayton County are helping residents have access to free fresh food through pop-up grocery markets as part of a collaboration with MARTA and Goodr, a company aimed at reducing food waste.

“It’s been a wonderful experience,” said Michelle Davis, who was attending one of the pop-ups for the first time Tuesday at Ellenwood’s Sonna Singleton Gregory Senior Center. “Being a senior, I think it’s a good thing because… I’m shopping in here and I’m not at the grocery store, I don’t feel danger.”

Davis got an email about the Ellenwood pop-up and preregistered along with over 40 other seniors who attended.
