City Of Dunwoody Adopts New Sustainability Plan
The Dunwoody City Council recently passed the city’s new sustainability plan.
The plan, created by the Dunwoody Sustainability Committee, is the city’s first revision since the plan was created in 2014.
On Monday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Nathan Sparks, who chairs Dunwoody’s Sustainability Committee, talked with show host Rose Scott about the goals of the updated plan and the role and history of the seven-member Sustainability Committee.
According to the city of Dunwoody’s website, the plan outlines five sustainable pillars that are in alignment with the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Green Communities objectives that will help ensure sustainability as it relates to health and wellness and community environmental, social and economic prosperity needs.
“We want to make sure we are leading in environmental sustainability,” Sparks said. “We want to help our businesses kind of recognize the importance of their part in that, and we want to make sure our citizens have a good quality of life.”
