Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis says her office is dealing with a historic amount of backlogged cases amind the ongoing health crisis and is currently hiring for several positions.
On Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Willis told show host Rose Scott that her office is working to review 12,000 unindicted cases.
“Many of those cases, honestly, are from my predecessor before the pandemic even started,” explained Willis. “I called those the 2016-2019 cases, but in that time period that is certainly no fault of my predecessor where the grand jury was not up and running.”
