Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp on Friday signed a bill into law that suspends the state’s motor fuel tax for 60 days amid skyrocketing gas prices since the launch of the Iran war.
The move comes after the state House and Senate overwhelmingly approved the measure earlier this week.
It will take a few days for House Bill 1199 to kick in because the fuel tax is charged at the distributor level, not by gas stations.
