Actress Kerisse Hutchinson is presenting her first play, “2 The Left,” a one-woman show about the life of Atlanta rapper, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. Hutchinson spoke with “City Lights” about the development of the play and how through learning about one person’s experience, we can learn about ourselves.
The play chronicles the life and spiritual journey of Lisa from her years with the ’90s pop band TLC and it goes all the way to her final days in Honduras. Hutchinson also showcases the controversial moments Lisa went through, such as the infamous arson event at Atlanta Falcon’s player, Andre Rison’s house.
She takes us through Lisa’s stance on her spirituality and how she dealt with some painful events in Honduras as well. On April 25, 2002 she passed away at 30-years-old due to a car accident in Honduras.
