The following is a timeline of the major events surrounding the City of Atlanta’s lease of 85 acres of green space in south DeKalb County to the Atlanta Police Foundation for a new $90 million public safety training center critics have dubbed “Cop City.”

The timeline also details a swap of the land adjacent to the proposed center between DeKalb County and former Blackhall Studios CEO Ryan Milsap.

Both are at the center of conflict between law enforcement and activists, which resulted in the shooting of a Georgia State Patrol officer, the death of a 26-year-old protester and domestic terrorism charges for others.
