While television audiences may know her best for her most recent role as Melissa Schemmenti from the ABC hit comedy “Abbott Elementary,” actress and comedian Lisa Ann Walter is far from a Hollywood newcomer.
With over 30 years under her belt in the entertainment industry, the veteran performer has secured roles in film classics such as “The Parent Trap,” served as the star and creator of her own ABC sitcom “Life’s Work” and now, on her summer hiatus from “Abbott,” is returning to the artform that started her career — standup comedy.
Speaking with “City Lights,” Walter discussed her decision to return to the stage, performing at Atlanta’s Helium Comedy Club on June 20 and 21.
