Alan Zweibel Excels At All Thing Comedy

Alan Zweibel is a TV writer, an author, an award-winning playwright and a screenwriter. He made a name for himself as one of the original writers of “Saturday Night Live.” During his five years at “SNL,” Zweibel wrote many memorable sketches, including Roseanne Roseannadanna and the Samurai for John Belushi. While at “SNL,” Zweibel developed a close friendship with Gilda Radner, one that would last well beyond his time for the seminal show.

Zweibel has won many awards throughout his career. He won a Tony for his collaboration with Billy Crystal on the play 700 Sundays, a Thurber Prize for American Humor for his book “The Other Shulman” and Emmy’s for his work in television.

Zweibel spoke with “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes about his career and also his latest book, “Laugh Lines: My Life Helping Funny People Be Funnier.”
