Ann Romney campaigns in Fulton County

During her campaign swing through Fulton County, Ann Romney, Mitt Romney’s wife, defended her lunchtime appearance in Alpharetta.

While Gingrich and Santorum campaigned in Georgia, the candidate Romney was stumping in North Dakota. It was his wife Ann talking to voters inside Smokejack Southern Grill and BBQ. She said her husband had no problem sending her to Georgia.

“Mitt was just here in Georgia not long ago,” said Ann Romney. “We care about Georgia and that’s why I’m here.”

Romney stumped in Atlanta on February 9th. Ann Romney is also helping the campaign open its Georgia headquarters today in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood. While in Alpharetta, she expressed frustration about the nation’s budget deficit and national debt.

“Personally, I’m angry,” she said. “I’m angry about what my grandchildren are going to inherit this kind of debt.”

Polls suggest Gingrich has a slim lead in Georgia over Romney and Santorum.
