The newly formed ATL Homeless Union camped and protested in front of Atlanta City Hall over the weekend to demand housing, healthcare and a seat at the table.

In a statement released on Sunday, the union emphasized that the current resources for those experiencing homelessness are unacceptable and is demanding the city use some of the pandemic relief funds for long-term housing solutions.

Similar protests have taken place over the summer in other major cities such as Austin and Portland.

According to a report from WSB-TV, six protesters were arrested on Monday afternoon outside of city hall. The group plans to continue the demonstrations daily until the demands are met.
