On the “City Lights” series “Speaking of Art,” local artists share insights into their influences, processes and experiences in town. This edition focuses on muralist and painter Aysha Pennerman.

“The type of work that I usually do on the public art side is through telling stories or creating inspirational and motivating messages,” says Pennerman. “Essentially, I want these pieces to be a light in communities, especially ones that are neglected and overlooked. Ultimately I want people to drive by or walk by and feel uplifted when seeing my work.”
