Atlanta creatives encourage conversations on mental health and grief among men of color at 'We Go On' tour

The 26-city "We Go On" tour is an evening dedicated to holding on to hope "through storytelling, music, visuals, laughter, and connection with others." It's hosted author and speaker John Onwuchekwa, comedian David Perdue, filmmaker Rich Perez and Grammy-Award winning musical artist Swoope. (Courtesy of "We Go On" tour)

Atlanta comedian David Perdue has consistently found that no matter what race, age or religion, laughter can never fail in bringing unlikely people together, even in the most volatile of circumstances.

“A lot of the times, we don’t know who else is in the room. We don’t know they background,” he notes. “We don’t know what they’ve been through, but when we all laugh … it’s like a slimmer of hope that I feel, because for a moment, it’s like everyone is together.”

Few people would expect the 14-year veteran of stand-up to become speechless. But when asked how he would best describe the “We Go On” tour, there is a short pause.
