The Atlanta Film Festival returns this week for its 50th annual celebration of the South’s rich creative community. Over 11 days, organizers expect more than 25,000 visitors between the historic Tara and Plaza theatres.

Chris Anthony Hamilton sits back, sipping a purple bubble tea, as he prepares to show off his new film at the Tara Theater.

“‘Missing While Black’ is a narrative short film that I wrote and directed about an African-American woman whose daughter goes missing,” Hamilton says.
