Eugene Jones, the president and CEO of Atlanta Housing, says the time is now to take action to solve Atlanta’s affordable housing crisis.

“We need to make decisions, we need to move forward and let people, who understand and really know, build affordable housing,” Jones said on Monday’s edition of “Closer Look.”

Jones explained to program host Rose Scott that the city, state and federal government need to come together.

“We need consistency at the top all the way down to the bottom so that we can move these developments in the right direction,” said Jones.

During the conversation, Jones also discusses several other housing-related topics and the agency’s plan to build more rental properties and increase homeownership.
