On the “City Lights” series “Speaking of Poetry,” Atlanta’s most prolific wordsmiths discuss the art of evoking emotions with words. This “Speaking of Poetry” edition features poet Andrea Jurjevic.

“I think my poems are like me. They are immigrants in a foreign world. They carry parts of my place of origin and they are like visitors here. They reflect notions of home and belonging and what I think a lot of immigrants experience on a daily basis,” says Jurjevic.

She feels that her poems reflect “living in a state of in-betweenness — among cultures, languages and identities.”
