This year marks 250 years since the birth of iconic classical composer Ludwig van Beethoven, and Atlanta is celebrating along with the rest of the world.

The Emory Chamber Music Society is holding a series of concerts and lectures beginning this weekend. The ensemble’s director and extraordinary pianist Will Ransom sat down with “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to discuss the series.

On Saturday at 10 a.m., the concerts will begin with a lecture about Beethoven’s string Quartet. At 8 p.m., the Vega String Quartet performs the cycle of Beethoven’s Rasumovsky Quartets.
