CNN journalist Victor Blackwell discusses new weekend show that focuses communities of color

Veteran journalist Victor Blackwell was encouraged by his mom to ask questions and to research things he was curious about.

Those techniques have served him on his career journey from a local news general assignment reporter to a correspondent and anchor at CNN.

On Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Blackwell talked with show host Rose Scott about what led him to pitch the idea for his new talk show, “First of All with Victor Blackwell,” and why it’s so important to him to tell stories about what’s affecting communities of color and how those issues impact all people.
