Roy Wood Jr. is an accomplished comedian and actor who quickly became well-known due to his unique skill at blending comedy and journalism with race and politics to deliver hilarious, thought-provoking messages.

In Spring of this year, Wood headlined the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, garnering its highest ratings since 2017. He is currently on his national “Happy to Be Here” tour and makes his stop in Atlanta on Sept. 22 at the Buckhead Theatre for two shows at 7:30 and 10 p.m.

In this interview, “City Lights” producer Jeannine Etter speaks with the esteemed funnyman about his career and upcoming tour stop in Atlanta.

“If I can make you laugh at something you don’t agree with, and then I can present it in a way that’s unifying, then you’ve educated and enlightened people,” Woods said.
