Comedic play 'By My Will' pokes at controversial theories around authorship of Shakespeare's works

Atlanta Shakespeare Company is never at a loss for stories about the bard. Opening April 8, a brand new play is coming to the tavern by the acclaimed Chicago-based playwright Douglas Post. “By My Will” plays with the controversial theories that have long been whispered about the authorship of some of Shakespeare’s plays in a colorful and bawdy comedy that would have made the bard proud. 

In this interview, Atlanta Shakespeare Company’s Jeff Watkins and playwright Douglas Post spoke about the humorous play with “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes.

“By My Will” opens at the Shakespeare Tavern tomorrow and runs through April 30. More information is available here.
