The play Tiny Beautiful Things is based on the best-selling book by Cheryl Strayed that captures her experience as the anonymous advice columnist known as “Dear Sugar.” Together, “Dear Sugar” and her letter writers find the honesty and authenticity often enabled only with anonymity.

The play runs through April 23 at the Balzer Theater at Herren’s in downtown Atlanta, a production of Theatrical Outfit. In this interview, Director Amber McGinnis and actor Maria Rodriguez-Sager, who plays Sugar, speak with “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes about the play.
