Former Atlanta Mayor And Current Mayoral Candidate Kasim Reed On Why He’s Running Again

Kasim Reed previously served two terms as the city’s mayor from 2010-2018, during which time he says crime was the lowest it had been in 40 years, but his tenure was marred by a federal investigation that ensnared members of his administration.

Now he’s running for a third term; Reed says his top priority is public safety — specifically, reducing the crime rate to the low percentages he touted while in office.
