Georgia’s business leaders aim to make development more sustainable in the coming years. They are confident that going green will continue to make the state money.

James Marlow is the president of Southface, an Atlanta-based organization that advocates for sustainable building and development. He says they have a pretty simple philosophy: sustainability done right equals savings.

“It means a better business decision. It means that you’re going to waste less. At Southface, we really don’t like waste of any kind. That means wasting money. It means wasting materials. It means wasting energy or water,” Marlow said.
