Timothy Crimmins, a Georgia State University professor emeritus of history, was chair of the commission on the preservation of the Georgia Capitol and co-author of “Democracy Restored: A History of the Georgia State Capitol.”

Crimmins joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to talk about an app that allows users to tour the Georgia Capitol from the comfort of home.

Crimmins, along with former student Chris Escobar, developed the app in 2012 as a sort of a virtual guide for visitors to have when seeing the Capitol. The app walks users through a  number of different historical facts about the building, told through interviews and videos done by Crimmins.
