Hall County residents might soon be able to take an express bus to Atlanta.

A community group aligned with the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, called “Vision 2030,” is exploring the possibility of having a private charter bus company provide weekday rides into the city, as well as to the airport.

Doug Hanson, a volunteer with the group, is leading the effort.

“We have a lot of people in our county that go to Gwinnett and other counties to ride their transit systems [to get to Atlanta,]” Hanson said. “So I know that there are people that need rapid transit.”

Hall County offers transit within the county, but does not operate a connecting express bus service to other parts of metro Atlanta.

Vision 2030 will be working with city and county governments over the next few months on the idea. Hanson says the group hopes to start trial runs in the spring of 2016.
