Human Rights activist Elizabeth Omilami of Hosea Helps Inc. says she is disheartened by what she is seeing and hearing in the media about the Friday night protests in Atlanta.

In a conversation with WABE’s local host of “All Things Considered” Jim Burress, Omilami says the anarchists came in and hijacked both the march and the message.

She added, “Because all over the country now, people are now talking about the riots. And they’re not talking about the other three policemen that need to be arrested. They’re not talking about the pain of the George Floyd family. They’re not talking about the upcoming trial.”

Omilami said some people came and burned the American flag and caused chaos.

She said civil rights protesters don’t burn the flag, because “our forefathers died” for this country.

Omilami is the daughter of the late civil rights legend Hosea Williams.
