John McCutcheon presents ‘A Song for Ukraine’ in Lawrenceville
Folk singer John McCutcheon has spent more than five decades using music to uplift workers, communities, and causes. His connection to solidarity goes back to his first performance at age 14, when he was hired to play for his hometown paper-mill union. “My very first gig — I’d been playing guitar two weeks,” he told WABE. “I got hired by my hometown’s local paper mill workers union… they stood up and they held hands and they sang.”
The Lawrenceville concert, presented by HelpingUkraine.US, supports programs that provide art classes, therapy and creative spaces for children living in Odesa, Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih and frontline villages.
