Several budding food and beverage entrepreneurs have already found success with the Georgia Tech Food and Beverage Accelerator program. The first cohort even picked up honors at the annual Flavor of Georgia event two years in a row. Now, program leaders are accepting applications through May 31 for the second cohort.

The accelerator program serves as a resource for small business owners in the food and beverage industry, helping them get their products into retail spaces. The program has helped business owners working on everything from chicken sausage to gluten-free baked goods.

On today’s “Closer Look with Rose Scott,” several locally based business owners from the first cohort share their experiences in the program and how they’re hoping to bring their products to a wider market. The director of the Georgia Tech Food and Beverage Accelerator also discussed what they’re looking for in an applicant for the next cohort. They also introduced their new consulting program for people who have a product idea but don’t have much time in their schedules.
