Former longtime Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan made his first official appearance as the team’s new president of football on Tuesday.

“Basically, that means everything between football and grass he is responsible for,” said team owner Arthur Blank. “And with his success both on the field and leadership … we feel he’s a perfect choice.”

About 5,000 people tuned in to the YouTube livestream, welcoming the former QB back to the team that originally drafted him in 2008. Fans hope to see the Falcons make a playoff run and end the NFL’s second-longest postseason drought.
