Meals On Wheels Atlanta Works To Provide Meals Amid The COVID-19 Pandemic

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, adults 65 and older are at a higher risk of developing more serious complications from COVID-19.

With that in mind and out of an abundance of caution, government agencies, hospitals, grocery store chains and nonprofits across the nation — and right here in Atlanta — are working to adhere to CDC guidelines in an effort to protect the health of those 65 and older.

Many nonprofits remain committed to helping those in need, especially making sure homebound and food insecure senior citizens in Atlanta have healthy meals during this unprecedented time.

Hillary Baker, chief marketing officer at Meals on Wheels Atlanta, joined “Closer Look” by phone to discuss what her organization is doing in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
