At about 6 million people, the Atlanta metro is the ninth-largest metro region in the U.S.

But experts predict a lot of people will migrate to Atlanta in the coming decades.

In fact, by 2050, the growth will be the equivalent of the entire Denver metro area upped and moved to Atlanta.

Three million more people are coming by then, according to the Atlanta Regional Commission.

The ARC released its regional transportation plan, which addresses how all of us will get around with that influx of people.

David Haynes is in charge of long-range planning for the ARC, and he joined WABE News “All Things Considered” host Jim Burress to talk more about their projections.
