“Music isn’t just what we listen to – it’s who we are, what we love, where we belong.” Those words are spoken by the character of Brian Epstein, the manager of The Beatles, who Paul McCartney once called the “fifth Beatle,” though his story is far lesser known than that of pop music’s all-time most influential ensemble.
“Midas Man” is the new biopic exploring the story Epstein, the Jewish, gay man from Liverpool who took a big risk as a first-time manager for the upstart Beatles, changed the world of music forever, and died tragically young at 32. The film screens as part of the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival on Feb. 23, March 1 and March 3.
“Midas Man” director Joe Stephenson joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to talk about the film and the fascinating man who built the world’s biggest band.
