Pinewood Studios Atlanta sits on 700 acres in Fayette County and is considered one of the premium filming locations in the world.
There’s also its town, Pinewood Forest, that features homes and lots of amenities for studio employees. And there are plans for an elementary school and a whole new brand.
When Frank Patterson took over as president of the studio in 2016, his mission was to explore, expand and give back to the community.
“Morning Edition” host Lisa Rayam sat down with him recently, and he shared how Pinewood hosted a gala for local charities to reaffirm that commitment.
He also weighed in on Georgia’s controversial film tax credit that has helped the industry blossom here, but that critics say has hurt state coffers.
