The art of wood turning in the Moulthrop household has been passed down from generation to generation since the 1970s.
The self-taught artist, Ed Moulthrop, became known as the “Father of woodturning” and was famous for his large-scale turned bowls and spherical wooden sculptures.
He died in 2003, but the family legacy continues with his son Philip and grandson Matt, both master woodworkers. The works of all three generations are currently on display at the Atlanta Botanical Garden.
